All Future Professionals must commit to and follow the Professional Images (Dress Code) Guidelines during their enrollment in the school. These guidelines were established to assist in creating a safe, focused, and enjoyable learning experience. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a coaching under the Future Professional Advisory Policy and may result in termination without prior warning.
Professional Image (Dress Code)
All Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance:
- Future Professionals may wear black, gray and white in any combination.
- Clothing should be professional and clean.
- All shoes must be closed toe and closed heel. Colored shoes are allowed.
- Hair should be styled prior to arriving at the school.
- Any cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school.
- The following is a list of acceptable dress:
- Jeans or clothing made of jean material if they are black, gray or white. Any rips or tears must fall below the fingertips, when standing up.
- Tank tops must have a strap that is 1 inch in width.
- Sweatshirts, T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and/or jackets with the Paul Mitchell logo or the school logo. All other brands' logos must be smaller than your metal name tag.
- Stylish hats, scarves, beanies, baseball hats, and stylish head wraps.
- Shorts and/or skirts that fall below the fingertips.
- Tights, leggings, or biker shorts must be made of thick material and not see through.
- Crop tops that only expose up to 1 inch of midriff.
- Name Tag - as provided by the school. All Future Professionals are required to wear a name tag while in attendance.
The following is a list of unacceptable dress for all Future Professionals in attendance:
- No outerwear blankets, slippers, crocks, sandals, and slides.
- Sweatpants or pajama bottoms.
- Shorts and/or skirts that fall above fingertips, when standing up.
- Visors, bandanas, and bonnets.
- Headphones, headgear, airpods, and/or earphones are not permitted in the classroom or the clinic classroom.
- Sunglasses.
Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached and may receive an advisory.
**Students that do not comply with the dress code will be required to wear a smock that is provided by the school. If a student refuses to wear a smock they will be sent home.
